27 Dresses....maybe kinda close to home?

Saturday night Curtis and I saw a midnight showing of this show at Times Square.  The verdict?  Eh.  I mean, it was cute, but nothing fabulous.  Curtis actually thought it was better than I did.  I love Katherine Heigl though, so it's always a treat to see her.
There's a part in the show when she's talking to a guy who's kind of giving her a hard time about being a bridesmaid 27 times.  She mentions how she really enjoys doing it, and has had some really fun times in those dresses.  Then (I wish I could remember it word for word) she makes a comment about how she loves her friends, and loves being there for them, and one day it will be her turn to get married and she hopes they'll be there for her on her big day.  I kind of felt like I could really relate to that statement since most of my childhood, high school, and college friends are married.  I decided to take a second to reflect on the weddings I was a bridesmaid for, or was asked to dress in the bride's wedding colors:
  • June 1, 2001-Maid of Honor for my sister Rebecca's wedding
  • June 21, 2002-Bridesmaid for my best friend Cindy's wedding
  • July 18, 2003-Maid of Honor for my friend Joselyn's wedding
  • April 30, 2004-Bridesmaid for my brother Brad and sister-in-law Nadia's wedding
  • July 22, 2004-Asked to be a bridesmaid for my friend Nicole's wedding, but couldn't do it due to conflicting circumstances
  • December 30, 2005-Wore wedding colors for my brother Jason and sister-in-law Elise's wedding
  • January 26, 2008-Wore wedding colors for my best friend Shantay's wedding
And last night my friend Risa asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this August 31 and I couldn't be more excited!  Risa is one of my oldest friends; we go back to 1997 in the THHS cheerleading days.  It will be my first experience as a bridesmaid for a non-LDS wedding so it will be a different experience that I'm totally stoked for.
I've loved participating in every single wedding and being there to help out in any way I can.

Maybe a little off topic but my trainer from stila (the one who taught me all I know and is now one of the head ladies at stila) did all the bridesmaids for the katherine heigl wedding. Katherine Heigl has her own makeup artist on set, obviously. But my trainer was highly recommended and therefore hired for the high profile wedding in December. We discussed it over lunch one day before she went to Utah. I felt so cool to be part of the discussion b/c I too love Katherine Heigl.
