Dear (not so) Anonymous in Salt Lake City

You were up blog stalking early this morning!  Before I go off on how annoying it is when people leave "anonymous" comments, let me remind you, in this day and age, with all the tracking devises, do you really think anything is that "anonymous"?  Just fyi, so you don't leave too many other "anonymous" comments, thinking the blog owner won't have an idea of who you are.
Now really, was it necessary to mention to me that Obama won the popular vote and will be in office for the next for years?  I mean, come one, did I complain about his policies?  Have I whined about how the market has tumbled since he was elected (minus a one day rally on Monday)?  In that post did I even mention one thing that said I didn't vote for him or didn't agree with what he believes in?
NO!  So why are you leaving me a comment, as if I was complaining that I didn't like our new President?  For all you know I could have freaking voted for him.  If you go back and read the post, it's about how I'm sick of hearing about the Obama family so frequently.  I feel like there's other things in the world that can grace the covers of my magazines.  What I don't care about, is what kind of dog they're adopting, what Michelle is wearing, or where Sasha and Malia are going to school.  I don't care that the White House will be decorated in Pottery Barn or that Barack and Michelle are so in love.  He's a politician, not a celebrity (supposedly.)  I would feel the same way if it was McCain's face and family all over the magazines.  Regardless of the fact that I'm a republican, I have the right to get sick of hearing about the same topic over and over and over again.
Besides all this, most of that post was dedicated to my annoyance for Hollywood and their abuse of their public voice, not the Obama clan.
Lastly, this is my blog, and even if I did feel like blogging every day for the next four years about how I don't like our commander in chief, guess what?  I can do that.  And guess what else?  You don't even have to read it!!  So no, I'm not going to be "sour grapes" for the next four years, but in case I change my mind, do yourself a favor and quit reading my blog.  I went private a year ago because of "anonymous" commenters like yourself, please don't make me do it again.

I've never commented on your blog before- but I guess I know not to do this anonymously! This same thing happened to my blog last year over a post I wrote before the election. If people do not like what they read- then they don't have to! The way I see it, people who write comments like that are just too BORED with their own life and have to absorb themselves in other people's. FYI I completely feel the same way about the Obama madness... keep up the fabulous blogging!!

Very well said Rachel. I totally agree with you - he is a politician and not a celebrity and everyone is acting like he is - no other president & family in my life time has ever gotten this much attention. I think it is sad because there are far more important issues he should and the world should be focusing on.

On that note -he has lost my respect in that while there are far more important things he should be doing/focusing on as President of our country and all this "change" he was going to bring....he is out gallivanting in California going on Jay Leno and Ellen! "No other president has done this while in office". And probably for good reason!!! Totally stupid move if you ask me, but don't get me started on that.

And regardless if he won the popular vote - it does not make him a good President!

A landslide??? He won 53% of the vote. Don't call it a landslide until he comes close to doing what Reagan did. He won 48 states including liberal New York and Massachusetts. Gosh I wish I was older so I could have enjoyed that time. :)

The problem with liberals is they have no tolerance for people who have an opposing view. They don't practice what they preach. They attack anyone who isn't on their same "page". They name call and berate people while at the same time whining and sulking that they are oppressed. Media darlings!

Hey Rachel, Just wanted you to know that you CAN make it so that your blog does NOT accept anonymous comments. I've done that on my blog just cause I don't want to hear crap. I figure if someone wants to comment that bad, they will get an account and comment. Anyways, just a suggestion. I love that you know who the person is.

BTW-I'm Rebecca's friend. Love your blog!

Good for you! Anonymous comments are annoying! Really, if you have to be anonymous, then why even say it? And I agree, its been 5 months and the Obama family is still plastered all over every magazine. It really does get frustrating.

The reason people say that kind of stuff, is because they think they are smarter than everyone else and are just waiting for opportunities to "pounce"!

ps I vote madmen and arrested developement. One is the best tv drama I've ever seen and the other is the best tv comedy in my opinion! Also may I suggest 30 Rock?

You crack me up! And look who is popular!! :) And please please don't go private. If a person's blog can't go in my google reader, I don't read it. And when you're private, no google reader. Suck-town.

I just had to laugh out loud! Wow! I do agree with you on the Obama's. Can you believe how ignorant people can be?! Yes, I agree with Trish. Don't go private, Google Reader wont keep track!

Ha ha nice! I like how you mentioned the technology to know who they are! I have a site reader on my blog, which I try not to advertise. But there is someone that I know doesn't like me and I know they get on my blog like two times a week! Ha ha too funny! Gotta love technology!

Thanks for your comment on my blog!
Yeah, I will never understand people who go out of their way to be rude, especially when it comes to commenting on people's blogs.
I liked the way you handled yours. I probably wouldn't have been so nice if it wasn't people I'd known for many years and if it wasn't multiple people. Plus, whoever commented on yours was just flat out stupid and pointless...and that's usually the way it is! It drives me nuts!
Keep up your blogging, too. It's your page, say what you want! :)

Don't feed the trolls. Hahaha. FYI Reagan forwarded me the addy to your page. She was telling me this story about the person we met at CV's house on 81st reads her blob and blah blah. Pretty funny stuff. --Jake

I don't know what anonymous said but will be calling you to find out all about it later. That really is rude of them to be rude. Now here are my comments given of course with love......the Obamas are just like any other first family that is voted in.....I've been around a very long time and it was even more that way with the Kennedy's. The decorating has always been an item in the news, the first lady and how she dresses is always in the news. Hillary clinton was always in the news when she was first lady, as well as Jacquelyn Kennedy even after she wasn't first lady, same with the Bushes...both of them. Barbara was always talked about the different pearl necklaces she would wear. The children too have always been in the news. We still see the pictures of John Kennedy under his Dad's desk when he was a little boy. The Bush daughters too were always on the covers of magazines....same with Trish Nixon...the list goes on and on so it's just what happens with the First Family. France's president's wife was in the news this week and all about her wardrobe so there you go. It's just the way it always has and always will be. Maybe it's just because you are all young and this is the first time you've been involved and aware of the First Family. And I did vote for Obama and I think he's doing a great job! It will take a long time to get out of the mess we've been in for the last 8 years.
